Germanton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in both Forsyth and Stokes counties, North Carolina. It covers an area of approximately 69.56 square miles and has a population of around 799 residents as of July 1, 2023. Germanton was established in 1790 and is the oldest community in Stokes County, with a rich historical background.
The community was originally part of a 700-acre tract granted to Jacob Lash by the Earl of Granville in 1762. The town was named after an influx of Germanic immigrants who settled in the area following the American Revolution.

Germanton is located in the northwestern part of North Carolina, near the Blue Ridge Mountains. The community's terrain is characterized by rolling hills, farmlands, and wooded areas.
